چکیده
Introduction: Scaling and root planing (SRP) reduces periodontal inflammation but complete removal of bacterial deposits toxins is not always feasible. Thus, adjunctive therapeutic strategies like use local delivery chlorhexidine (CHX) chip laser therapy have evolved. Objective: To compare effectiveness locally delivered CHX with diode in treatment periodontitis. Methods: The non-randomised trial was done Department Periodontics at Peoples Dental College Hospital (PDCH) from August 2019 to July 2020 after ethical clearance Nepal Health Research Council. Study population patients chronic periodontitis bilateral pockets contralateral hemiarches exhibiting probing depth (PPD) ≥5-7 mm attending PDCH. Written informed consent obtained all participants. Baseline parameters were recorded one week full mouth SRP. In group A placed B done. parameters: Oral Hygiene Index-Simplified, Plaque Index, Gingival PPD, Clinical Attachment Level (CAL) month, three months, six months. Results: Fifteen analysed. Comparison showed that PPD scores month months significantly lower Group compared B. CAL baseline both the groups same. At subsequent visits, for than B, mean difference statistically significant. Conclusions: Both significant improvements baseline. However, improvement between

Background and aim: The most common form of periodontitis is chronic periodontitis, which is a destructive inflammatory disease of periodontal tissues and is usually associated with pocket formation, changes in density and height of alveolar bone, and sometimes gingival recession. Some patients are resistant to periodontitis treatment due to a weak immune system, smoking, and sometimes due to u...

the effects of diode laser (980 nm wavelength) and chlorhexidin gel in the treatment of chronic periodontitis
introduction: the aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of srp assisted by the two clinical treatment methods of diode laser or chlorhexidine gel applications in comparison with srp alone. methods: eight patients with moderate to severe chronic periodontitis, each with at least three pockets 4–7 mm deep, were selected for this study. over 66 pockets were selected and randomly ...
